Tom Pittman (born Jerry Lee Alten) (March 16, 1932 – October 31, 1958) was an American actor. He died aged 26, described by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Hollywood's most promising young actors."He was born in Phoenix, Arizona. His father was TV-radio actor Frank Alten. He appeared in films including The Proud Rebel (1958) with Alan Ladd, High School Big Shot (1959) and Verboten! (1959). Pittman also excelled on television in numerous classic westerns, guesting on Wagon Train, Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, Tales of Wells Fargo, and Zane Grey Theater.He died in a car crash at Benedict Canyon, California in 1958, after leaving a Halloween party; his body was found nearly three weeks later.
