In 2012, Shonda Rhimes cast Ferrer in recurring role in Season 9 of ABC drama series Grey's Anatomy. In June 2013 she was promoted to series regular as of season 10; however, in March 2014 (2014-03), it was announced that she would be exiting the show at the end of the season.
