According to the sources, Kyle Plush’s family and the city of Cincinnati have reached an agreement to settle the family’s wrongful death lawsuit.
The Plush family will get a $6 million payment as part of the settlement, according to the source.
The deal calls for a $250,000 investment in the Emergency call center. The money will engage outside specialists to look into the city’s emergency system.
The Kyle Plush Answer the Call Foundation, which campaigns for safer neighborhoods, will get a portion of the $6 million.
According to the Plush family, the lawsuit was never about wealth.

Kyle Plush was a 16-year-old boy when he died.
Jill Plush and Ron Plush were his parents. Alli Plush is his younger sister.
Kyle’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court in August 2019 after police and 911 center staff failed to save the kid.
He was failed rescued by 911 calls, so his parents sued Cincinnati for their answers.
The city of Cincinnati spent more than $100,000 on three previous investigations that found no misconduct on the part of the phone takers and officers. It has since attempted to increase training, hire more staff, and improve the 911 system so that consumers may submit personal information.

How Did Kyle Plush Die
Kyle Plush died of asphyxiation due to chest compression after being trapped by a folding seat in the vehicle.
The teen’s body was not discovered for several hours.
When his father looked for his son after he didn’t come home from school, he found him in the van.
Plush was a seven Hills tennis team member and had a match scheduled for that evening. He reached for his tennis equipment in his 2004 minivan when he got pinned by the third-row seat.
