According to PageSix, Agnifilo made headlines in November 2017 after excusing herself from Harvey Weinstein’s case as a chief district attorney because he had hired her spouse as his defense attorney. The conflict of interest among the pair led her to take herself off the case.
Marc Agnifilo Is A Criminal Lawyer

He started private practice in New York between 1994 and 1998 at the Law Office of Marc. A. Agnifilo. Marc moved on to the United States Attorney’s Office as a Chief of the Violent Crimes Unit in 1998 and served there until 2006.
Marc has been involved with some of the most high-profile and sensitive cases in his career. According to his bio on his personal website Marc Agnifilo, he has worked with foreign nationals accused of spying on the United States of America for criminal activities.
The Pair Met Three Decades Ago
Karen Friedman and Marc Agnifilo met in 1992 while working for the DA office in Manhattan. Karen and Marc married four years later in 1996.
Agnifilo household has always faced special challenges because of being a top legal couple in the United States working for two different sides. Karen worked for the government as a top aide for the Manhattan DA office while Marc had switched to private practice long ago.
According to New York Times, Karen and Marc faced a similar problem in 2011 when Dominique Strauss-Kahn retained Marc’s employer as his legal counsel, and you guessed it, prosecuting side was Karen’s office.
She had to take her time off the case and never mention it with her husband or the press ever again. They have had such a problem numerous times, adds the Times’ article.
However, such conflict of interest has helped their married life as they have developed a habit of speaking less about work and more about their personal life at home with each other.
The pair has been married for 27 years now and share three beautiful children together. Their daughters are Camille “Eliza” Agnifilo, Sofia Agnifilo, and Alex Agnifilo Conescu. Alex and Sofia are fraternal twins.
Despite being fairly active on social media, Marc and Karen have kept most of the information about their personal life away from the web or general people. It might have to do with the nature of their job.
