Kalani was part of the dance group “AKsquared,” Disney’s first Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off – Shake It Up Edition winners in 2011. She had a small ole in one episode of the short-lived ABC Family television series Bunheads in early 2013. In the same year, she competed on the Lifetime reality series Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition finishing fourth.

She competed for the Mini Female Best Dancer title at the inaugural prestigious annual national dance competition The Dance Awards, held in New York in 2011. She finished as second runner-up to the title out of 100 dancers in the category.

She won the title of Junior Female Best Dancer at The Dance Awards in 2013 representing Club Dance Studio, held in New York.
