Josh Brogadir Biography

Josh Brogadir joined WCVB as a sport and news reporter/anchor in August 2016. He previously worked in Boston as a sports anchor at Comcast SportsNet New England (CSNNE) and as a news reporter at New England Cable News (NECN).

Josh Brogadir Education

A native New Englander, Josh grew up in Woodbridge, CT. He graduated at the University of Pennsylvania where he played varsity lightweight (now Sprint) tackle football.  He volunteers and helps raise funds for the ALS Association and other important organizations.

Josh Brogadir Career

Over the years, he has covered many of the moments that have changed lives in New England, including the Boston Marathon bombings and manhunt through Cambridge and Watertown; the line of duty deaths of Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna and Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy; the capture of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger in Santa Monica, CA; the attack in Sandy Hook, CT; and the deadly tornado that carved a path through western and central Massachusetts.

Josh has also reported from the sidelines through the historic championship runs of Boston’s professional teams and documented the courage and perseverance of local student-athletes.

Before returning to Boston, Josh was a reporter and anchor at WNEP-TV in Scranton, PA where he won an Associated Press award for investigative journalism; WHOI-TV in Peoria, IL; KREX-TV in Grand Junction, CO; and was a producer at KNSD-TV in San Diego, CA. Prior to that, he was a two-way bilingual (Spanish) teacher and football coach at Walsh Middle School in Framingham.

Josh is also a voiceover artist and actor, with more than 50 films and TV/Web series, plays, audiobooks, and commercials to his credit. When not reporting for Channel 5, he can often be found running, biking, or hiking the trails of New England with his wife, Becca, and kids, Sophie and Nathan.
