Jim Creeggan Biography
Jim Creeggan is the bassist for Canadian alternative rock band Barenaked Ladies (BNL) and occasional back-up vocalist for the rock band Ottawa Valley Heavy Pucks.
He plays the double bass regularly, both bowed and pizzicato. He also played electric double bass and BNL bass guitar. He received the Gibson Guitar Company Best Male Bassist Award in 1999. His double bass uses a French bow. He has played guitar on some Barenaked Ladies songs from time to time; mostly on songs that he sings lead. Creeggan has also contributed to records for some of the other members of the violin family and has arranged musical charts for session musicians to record different band instruments.
