In 2011, Nolan received the Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the American Cinema Editors’ ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award.
That same year, he received the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s highest honor, the Modern Master Award. In addition, Nolan received the Visual Effects Society’s inaugural VES Visionary Award.
