Hayley Williams | Biography

Hayley Nichole Williams is an alternative rock icon who sings as the lead singer of the rock group Paramore. She is a singer and songwriter and also plays keyboard and guitar. At the age of sixteen, she debuted as one third of the Tennessee based band, Paramore, in 2004. As a part of Paramore, she has been nominated for multiple Grammy awards and has won many awards. She was born on December 27, 1988.

Hayley was born as a first child to her parents in Meridian, Mississippi. After her parents’ divorce, she was raised by her mother. From her father’s side, she has two younger sisters. When she was a teen, she relocated to Tennessee for some time with her mother and then stepfather. Following the messy breakup between them, they moved back to Mississippi but later settled down in Tennessee. It is assumed that the inspiration behind the song Emergency of the band came from the chaotic relationship with her former stepfather. Hayley was homeschooled all through high school graduating in 2006. In 2008, she started dating New Found Glory member Chad Gilbert and they have been together since then. Previously she dated her ex-band member Josh Farro, their break up causing turmoil in the band. She currently divides her time between her house in Franklin and Los Angeles.

While homeschooled, she came across the Farro brothers, Zac and Josh with whom she decided to be in a band with them. Before Paramore, Hayley was briefly a member of The Factory. During the audition for The Factory, she was introduced to present Paramore bass player, Jeremy Davis. When she was thirteen, she had been discovered by agents and already had a two year deal with them. She was signed to Atlantic Records. The record wanted her to be a solo performer but she decided against them and formed Paramore with the three members under the record, Fueled by Ramen. The band released their first album in 2005. With the band she toured extensively and started getting known for her strong vocals and striking appearance. The Farro brothers introduced her to the current guitarist of Paramore, Taylor York. Their second album became Platinum certified in America. They released two more studio albums over the years and in 2010 the brothers left the band after completing their Brand New Eyes album. Although battling controversies and rumors of disbandment, Hayley and the remaining band members released their self-titled fourth album in 2012 to much success. In addition to writing songs and performing as Paramore, Hayley has also written songs for other artists and collaborated with several artists. She was a featuring artist in B.O.B’s Platinum certified single, Airplanes and also collaborated with Zedd on the award winning single, Stay the Night. She has also worked with various other bands like October Fall, The Chariot, Say Anything, New Found Glory and Domestikated. The British magazine, Kerrang, has given her the title of Sexiest Female several times. The young singer has a personal net worth of over $7 million.

When she’s not busy performing and touring with Paramore, Hayley takes interest in spending her time with her boyfriend and friends. She enjoys movies and has a keen interest in books. She loves working on DIY projects and is a devoted fashionista. She is popular among her fans for her iconic hair colors which she changes timely. She and MAC Cosmetics even launched a make-up line, MAC Hayley Williams Collection in 2013.
