Ricky Naputi Wikipedia-Fattest Man Died From Suicide
Ricky Naputi, who weighed approximately 900 pounds, died in November 2012, but not before allowing reality TV cameras from TLC into his home. “900 Pound Man: Race Against Time,” a show on the cable network, presented his story.
Naputi, a resident of the US territory of Guam, was bedridden and confined to his home, unable to walk or bathe.
He couldn’t even speak without being out of breath, let alone stand up or leave his cramped bed. He required the use of an oxygen machine on a regular basis.
In desperation, he sought out Angie Flores, a lady from Houston, Texas, who shed more than 80 pounds after undergoing gastric surgery and is now an advocate for others seeking to make similar changes.
Ricky required surgery to lower the size of his stomach by 80%, but he could not have it until he had shed at least 40 kg on his own.
Following his death, his official cause of death was ruled to be morbid obesity, as he described his connection with food as “like a bad drug addict’s battle with.”
Some believe Ricky committed suicide by ingesting some medication. Some speculate that he died as a result of his weight.
