Fake job racket: MEA rescued 45 trapped in Myanmar so far

New Delhi, Oct 5 (IANS) Alerting people about dubious employment offers from overseas, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday that it has thus far rescued 45 Indians from Myanmar who had been trapped in faux process rackets.

“We were actively pursuing the case of Indians being trapped in fake activity rackets in Myanmar. Thanks to the efforts of @IndiainMyanmar & @IndiainThailand, around 32 Indians had already been rescued. Another thirteen Indian residents have now been rescued, & reached Tamil Nadu these days,” MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

Giving extra records, the official said, “Some extra Indian residents have been rescued from their faux employers and are in custody of Myanmar authorities for unlawful access into that country. Legal formalities have been initiated to get them repatriated at the earliest.”

Instances of similar process rackets have additionally come to mild from Laos and Cambodia. Indian Embassies in Vientiane, Phnom Penh and Bangkok were supporting in repatriating human beings from there as the details of retailers allegedly involved on this racket have been shared with the applicable authorities in various Indian states, Bagchi stated.
