Edie Landau was an American film and television producer and executive. Edie Landau was the mother of three adult children Jon Landau, Kathy Landau and Tina Landau.

Edie Landau’s son Jon Landau was born on July 23, 1960. He is an American film producer best known for producing Titanic (1997), which won him an Oscar and grossed $2.19 billion, and Avatar (2009), which grossed $2.8 billion.

As of 2021, these are the first and third highest-grossing films of all time, having previously held the first and second positions.

Edie Landau’s daughter Kathy Landau is the Executive Director of Symphony Space in New York City. Her other daughter Tina Landau was born on May 21, 1962 in New York City. She is a playwright and theatre director from the United States.

Tina Landau’s large-scale, musical, and ensemble-driven work has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally, most notably at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where she is an ensemble member.

Edie Landau passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 95.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she died “peacefully” of natural causes on December 24 at her Century City home.
