Curley Gatlin: Who is Larry Gatlin’s father?

William Wayne”Curley” Gatlin father of Larry, Steve & Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers passed away on November 9 at the age of 93.

Willian was born in Maban, Texas on May 14, 1927. The brothers credit their father, a veteran of the United States Corps, for teaching them the values of hard work. He is survived by his three sons, Larry, Steve and Rudy and a daughter, LaDonna.

In 1979, when Gatlin signed with Columbia Records, he decided to officially have his brothers billed on his singles and on his albums.

The Gatlin Brothers were also one of the first country groups to have music videos, such as 1984’s, The Lady Takes the Cowboy every time.
