Annie Murphy family is complete with her husband Menno Versteeg and her retired teacher parents. The Black Mirror actress married Menno over a decade ago in August 2011.

Murphy is a Canadian actress best known for her appearance as Alexis Claire Rose in the Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek. Her character Alexis was comically oblivious but kindhearted, she respected the potential of all individuals around her on the show.

Menno Versteeg Is A Canadian Singer

Annie Murphy husband Menno Versteeg is a Canadian singer and the frontman of Hollerado and Anyway Gang. Murphy and Versteeg are married since August 2011.

Menno Versteeg was born in January 1980 in Ottowa, Ontario. The musician is 43 years old as of 2023 and shares the same hometown as his wife Annie. It is unclear if the pair met as kids or later in their life.

Versteeg started his musical career in 2007 after he along with three other members founded Hollerado. The band released their first studio album Record in a Bag as a free-to-download digital album in 2009. Menno accompanied Hollerado on international tours in China and other parts of the world as well.

The band released four full-length studio albums and went on numerous tours around the world before bidding farewell in December 2019. Menno Versteeg’s last performance with his band Hollerado was at  Danforth Music Hall on December 14, 2019.

Menno also works with another band Anyway Gang and has two studio albums Anyway Gang (2019) and Still Anyways (2022). He also released a solo studio album titled Reno Tapes on March 9, 2020, under his alias Mav Karlo.

Apart from making music, Versteeg is also the co-founder of Royal Mountain Records and has made numerous contributions to mental health wellness programs and funds.

Annie And Menno Have Been Married For Over A Decade

Annie and Menno tied the knot in August 2011 but the pair have kept their wedding date a secret. Murphy and Versteeg do wish one another on their anniversary.

Neither the actress nor the singer has ever revealed details about their wedding but they share glimpses of their married life during interviews and sometimes on social media.

Speaking with Elle, Annie, and Menno revealed the pair loves going on long walks across town in Toronto. The pair lives at an apartment in The Junction in the city which was engulfed by fire in 2013 but thankfully no one was hurt.

She mentioned how her mother Deb was Claustrophobic and loved to keep everything and everyone in their household under her control. Annie Portrays Joan In Black Mirror

Black Mirror Joan Actress Annie Murphy shares the screen with Salma Hayek on the Netflix series. Annie and Salma appear in the first episode of season 6.

Joan is a CEO of a tech company in the standalone first episode of season six of the Netflix series Black Mirror. She discovers her life story is being told as a streaming series titled “Joan is Awful” in popular streaming service Streamberry, which has the exact color scheme, sound, and logo with N replaced with S as Netflix.

She also discovers that she has inadvertently signed off the usage of her personal data in terms and conditions of Streamberry which the company is using to make an AI-generated CGI-rendered television series from the data collected from Joan’s personal devices.

Salma who portrays Joan in the series “Joan is Awful” also finds herself in a similar situation and signed her image rights to Streamberry in a similar fashion. The streaming service is using Joan’s negative side of life story and Salma’s face to create the series with Quantum Computers.

The two unite and vow to break the computer at the streaming service’s headquarters only to find both Joan and Salma are simulations played by actress Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek. Nevertheless, they finally break the computer to restore reality back to the source.

However, in the source, Joan is a coffee shop owner. She is placed on house arrest alongside Murphy for breaking into Streamberry’s office and smashing their computer. (yes that is some inception-level storyline or some may argue beyond inception-level storyline).
