Are Warren G and Snoop Dogg related?
Warren G and Snoop Dogg are not related by blood but they are close friends.
Warren G and Snoop Dogg met through his friend, singer and rapper Nate Dogg, who happens to be Snoop Dogg’s cousin.
In 1990, Warren G together with Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg formed the hip-hop trio 213, named for Long Beach’s area code. The trio 213 dissolved when two of its members signed with Death Row Records.
During his early solo career, Warren G worked with artists like MC Breed and 2Pac, but his big break came when his vocal collaboration with Mista Grimm, on “Indo Smoke”, appeared on the Poetic Justice soundtrack (1992).
Warren’s outstanding rap led to a serious collaboration with his stepbrother Dr. Dre.
As a result of Warren G and Snoop Dogg’s friendship, Warren G’s step-brother Dre discovered Snoop and he immediately began working with the talented artist. Snoop Dogg was then featured on Dre’s solo debut, “Deep Cover”, and on Dre’s solo debut album, The Chronic. He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
Although the 213 group was dissolved, Warren G and Snoop Dogg are still close friends.
